Summary
This article details the steps to create a Generic Event in WAVE using Hanwha AI Packs.
NOTE: This example uses the Traffic AI Pack, but this can be performed with all AI Packs.
Prerequisites
To create a generic event, the system must have the AI Pack installed, licensed, and the Object enabled in the AI Pack.
Creating a Generic Event
Create a New User Profile
- Log in to WAVE Client as a user with Administrator permissions.
- Select User Management > Users from the three-line menu in the top left.

Create a new user and assign the user role Advanced Viewer or Power User.
- Click OK.
Test the URL
To test the URL:
- Open a web browser on a machine that is in the same network as the WAVE server and paste the URL in the following format (with your WAVE server IP) in any browser.
https://IP OF WAVE SERVER:7001/api/createEvent?caption=Description of Event
For example:https://192.168.30.201:7001/api/createEvent?caption=SpeedLimit

Click Enter.
- Enter the username and password created in Create a New User Profile.
The following appears on the screen: {"error":"0","errorId":"ok","errorString":""}
This confirms that the URL is correct.
- Confirm that the Event appears under the Event tab.
Transfer the Event
To transfer the event:
- In the camera GUI, select Event > Handover > Add.
- Enter the following for the respective fields:
• Type: HTTPS
• IP Address: IP of WAVE Server
• Port: 7001
• User: User created earlier
• Password: Password created for user
• Action: Custom
• Query String: api/createEvent?caption=SpeedLimit
- Click OK > Apply.
- Select Event rule > Add.
- Select the Event Trigger and Event Action Setting.
Create the Generic Event
To create the generic event:
- In WAVE, right click on the camera and select Create Rule.
- Enter the information to create an event:
• When: Generic Event
• Source Contains: Leave Blank
• Caption Contains: Name of Event
• Description contains: Leave Blank
• Do: Bookmark
• At: Select your Camera - Click Apply.
The event is now listed under the Events tab in WAVE.
