Applies to: WRN-810 and WRN-1610 recorders
Summary
The WRN is a Linux computer running Wave in Ubuntu 18.04, so all networking must be configured within the Ubuntu environment. This article provides instructions for setting up the network in an older WRN recorder (WRN-810/1610).

Setting up the Network
To set up the network in a WRN recorder:
- Connect a monitor, mouse, and keyboard to your WRN.
NOTE: While a keyboard is not needed due to the Linux on screen keyboard,
it is recommended for ease of use. - Log in to Linux with your credentials.
- In the menu bar on the left, click the Settings icon, then select Network.
- In the USB Ethernet section, click the Gear icon.
NOTE: USB Ethernet is the internal Linux name for the NVR switch marked on
the NVR as Network 1. This network MUST have a static IP that is not in the
same range as the install site's computer network. - Click the IPv4 tab.
- In the IPv4 Method section, select the Manual radio button.
- Enter an Address, NetMask, and set the Gateway to be the same as the IP Address field.
NOTE: USB Ethernet sets the base IP range for the switch.
NOTE: PCI Ethernet is directly related to the Network 2 jack on the back of
the NVR. This port IP address will be in the same range as the site's
computer network for local and remote access. If you are going to set it to
DHCP, make sure the address is reserved in their DHCP server.
