Issue Summary
The hard drive appears as foreign or unconfigured in a MegaRAID system. This article provides troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
WARNING: This guide will initialize, erase, and clear a hard drive.
Make sure that your data is backed up before proceeding.
Resolution
To resolve the issue:
- Open the MegaRAID UI and log in.
NOTE: The credentials are normally linked to your Windows credentials.
- Select Physical.
- Navigate to Go To > Controller > Scan Foreign Configuration.
- Select the Clear: Remove logical configuration from all foreign drives radio button.
- Click OK.
