Summary:

This article will help you replace the backplane of a WRR-5501.

Step By Step Guide:

• Fan Assembly Removal
• Remove the fan bracket assembly from the chassis.
• Unfasten the blue thumbscrews on the left and right sides.
• Slide the assembly toward the arrows to disengage the assembly from the chassis slide lock.
  
  
  
• Remove fan headers from the backplane. Each header will be labeled. Make sure when
  re-installing to put it back in the correct header.
• Remove the two screws shown below to remove the backplane.
  
  
• Please note the dip switch settings on the old backplane and match them with the replacement backplane.
  
  
• Install the new backplane. Make sure that the screws, sliders, and fans are connected correctly and securely.
