Summary:
Setting up SMTP on recorders and cameras is straightforward. However, you might need to consult with your IT administrator or email provider, as some, like Google, may classify these devices as "Less Secure" and restrict their access to email servers. This article provides instructions for setting up SMTP email accounts on a camera or NVR.
Step By Step Guide:
Setting up on a Camera
To set up an SMTP email account on a camera:
- Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the camera you wish to connect to, then press Enter.
- Log in to the camera and navigate to Setup > Event > FTP/E-Mail.
-
Enter information into all the necessary fields.
- Click Apply.
The camera will attempt a test connection, providing a pass or fail message.
