Bookmarks are essential for operators to review when the workstation has been unattended. A bookmark can be automatically created to log motion detection and/or analytic triggers that will pertain the start/end time, channel, description and tags.
For Motion Detection:
- Under Event, choose “Motion on Camera” for and choose the specific cameras and channels. (It may be more than one.)
- Scheduling of the bookmarks is an option to limit the # of bookmarks when there is an operator is available.
- Under Action, select “Bookmark” and again choose the specific cameras and channels.
- Additional settings such as duration, pre/post-recordings and tags are utilized for more information that is detailed.
For Analytics:
- Under Event, select “Analytic Event” and choose the specific cameras and channels.
- For Event Type, select the correct Analytics that was configured on the camera.
- Please keep these fields empty if you are unsure. It’s optional to use the "Caption and Description" fields to enter or filter attributes or metadata provided by the analytic device. Entries in these fields should match the corresponding fields in the HTTP request and are case sensitive. If the field is empty, it will always be considered a match.
- Scheduling of the bookmarks is an option to limit the # of bookmarks when there is an operator is available.
- Follow step 3 and 4 from above.
Once the camera rules for bookmarks are finalized, they’re indicated on the camera’s timeline as blue.
Or to review the entire logs of bookmarks, go to the General tab of “System Administration” setup menu (Control+B).
