Applies to Models: Wisenet WAVE
Summary:
As a general rule, any VMS connected to the internet will generate internet traffic. The WAVE Sync Service, along with arranging external access directly to your server in an environment managed by a firewall, will run into issues when trying to establish an inbound or outbound connection. This article provides you with all the ports and services used by WAVE for your IT department to whitelist.
NOTE: For further information on what traffic WAVE generates, refer to
the following article: What internet traffic will the WAVE System generate?

Firewall Test:
If WAVE Sync has stopped working it could be a port issue. To test the necessary ports that are open from a Windows WAVE server, open the CMD prompt or PowerShell window, paste this command, and press enter:
powershell -command "Invoke-RestMethod -Uri 'https://gist.githubusercontent.com/vmshealth/328e5bedd4c79bf8d2264ca3d97a23e2/raw/54277b8cf995d72ae89dc72c0e2e8db254365b7c/wavesyncporttest.ps1' | Invoke-Expression"
For a WRN appliance or other Linux WAVE server, open terminal and paste this command (right click will paste), and press enter:
bash <(curl -s https://gist.githubusercontent.com/vmshealth/dd1a475ac229fb61ec33959d86b8251d/raw/af6f1957d2f9bd4a2a6ac6e06c508064876a4b1e/wavesyncporttest.sh)
