Applies to: Wisenet Cameras, March Networks NVRs
Summary:
This article provides instructions for using a Wisenet camera with March Networks’ 8000 series NVRs.
IMPORTANT: Technicians will need the latest versions of the following software
from March Networks:
Admin Console – used to manage NVRs, add/edit camera settings in the NVRs
Command Client – used to view live and recorded footage
Step By Step Guide:
Mandatory Configuration
Configure the IP address and password. Then, under Date & Time, set correct Time zone for the site location and enable Daylight saving time.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended to synchronize camera time to a local or
internet NTP server. At minimum, confirm the PC time is correct and
synchronize the camera time with the PC.
Set at least one motion zone in the camera. March Networks’ 8000 NVRs can record continuously, but to review or see motion activity histograms, you need one motion zone enabled in the camera.
NOTE: 8000 series NVRs only work with H.264 profile. H.265 is not available.
NOTE: For NVR firmware, verify with your March Networks contact the version
needed for the Hanwha camera you are adding into the NVR.
Adding a Camera to a March 8000 NVR
NOTE: It is assumed you have the IP address, camera credentials, and the camera
is powered up on the subnet of the NVR.
To add a camera:

Open the Admin Console, then click the Task Type dropdown menu and select Installation.
-
Click the Detect Device icon to search for the 8000 unit.

Special Options

Camera Brand - Hanwha
Camera Model - select one of the MultiChannel options
IP Address, Port, Login, and Password
-
Select the channel number of the unit from the Channel dropdown menu.

Verifying a Camera was Added
To verify a camera was added to the NVR, verify the Status column displays OK and there is a live video feed under Live View. If you do not see a live view, verify the camera settings, IP, and user details are correct.
Viewing Live and Recorded Video Footage
NOTE: It is assumed you have downloaded the correct Command Client version to
match the firmware of the NVR.
To view video footage:
-
Open the Command Client software from your PC and log in to the NVR with the IP and user credentials.
-
Select and open the camera.
-
In the top right corner of the screen, verify the NVR is recording. In the timeline under the image, you will see that the unit is recording continuously. The green histogram shows that the NVR is also able to record or flag motion from the Hanwha camera.
