Summary:
This article provides instructions for temporarily silencing or disabling the HDD Status alarm. Disabling the HDD status event rule is not recommended.
Step By Step Guide:
Silence the HDD Status alarm:
- Go to the NVR/DVR IP address in your browser and log in as admin.
- On the Live tab in the lower left corner, click on the icon that looks like a warning light with a check.
- Log out of the recorder and proceed with replacing the failed drive.
NOTE: Depending on the model NVR you have, you may need to power down and unplug the
unit before replacing the drive. Refer to the user manual to confirm.
Disable HDD Status alarm:
- Go to the NVR/DVR IP address in your browser and log in as admin.
- Navigate to Setup>Event>Event Rule Setup.
- Set the Enable column for the HDD Status alarm to Off.
NOTE: We do not recommend disabling the HDD Status alarm. This could cause
future failed drives to go unnoticed.
