Applies to: all Hanwha cameras
Summary:
Older camera models often require a plugin to display video, but modern web browsers are no longer supporting or using plugin technologies. This article provides instructions for accessing and configuring video from older cameras.
Step By Step Guide:
NOTE: Always make sure the camera firmware is up to date. To check the
firmware version, download the latest firmware and update using the Wisenet
Device Manager tool. Some cameras have a firmware version which removed the
plugin requirement.
Many of the key camera settings, such as setting the IP address/mode, changing
password, NTP, WDR, etc. can be configured using the Wisenet Device Manager.
To access and configure video from an older camera:
- Open a Microsoft Edge web browser.
- Click the three dots in the right-hand corner and click Settings.
- In the menu on the left-hand side, select Default browser.
- Select Allow from the Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode dropdown menu.
- Click Add next to the Internet Explorer mode pages.
- Follow the prompts to install the plugin.
You may need to close your web browser and follow the initial steps again.
- If you still cannot access the webpage of the camera, enter the following address in your web browser, substituting the correct IP address: http://IPADDRESS/home/setup/basic_videoprofile.cgi
Using this URL bypasses the main video page that requires ActiveX control. Instead, it takes you directly to the camera's setup page where you can access the menus, configure camera settings, and register the camera to your NVR or VMS.
