OnCloud: How do I add a camera?

Summary

This article outlines the process for onboarding a compatible camera to the Hanwha Vision Cloud platform. This article covers adding and configuring the CloudConnector Open API application and adding the camera to the Hanwha Vision Cloud.

The three main steps are:

  1. Connect your camera to the internet.

  2. Install the CloudConnector app on the camera.

  3. Add the camera to OnCloud.
NOTE: You must be an administrator to use this guide.

Adding a Camera

Before Starting

  1. Create an OnCloud account. If you don't have one, see OnCloud: How do I add my organization?

  2. Add at least one location and area. See OnCloud: How do I add locations and areas?

  3. Confirm that your camera is compatible. See OnCloud: What cameras are supported?

  4. Confirm that your camera firmware is compatible with the version of CloundConnector App you will install in the following step. 

  5. Connect your camera to the network. Use Wisenet Device Manager to configure the basic camera settings, including video analytics.

Get your organization ID and short name

  1. Log in to Cloud Portal.

  2. Navigate to OnCloud.

  3. Click the Building icon at the top right.



    NOTE: If you do not see this icon, you do not have permission to view the dashboard.
  4. Look for your organization ID and short name at the top left. You can click the icons to copy the values:


  5. Keep this browser tab open as you continue. 

Install CloudConnector

Download and install the CloudConnector App on each camera you will be using.

  1. Download the CloudConnector App located at the Cloud Connector product page.

  2. Login to the camera and click Open platform in the left menu.

  3. Click on Install Application.

  4. Select the CloudConnector App that you downloaded, then click Open.

  5. When prompted, click OK.



  6. Configure the CloudConnector to automatically start, optional, but recommended. 

  7. Click Start beside the CloudConnector app:


  8. Configure the CloudConnector App to connect to Hanwha Vision Cloud.

  9. Click on the Go App button in the CloudConnector:


  10. Copy and paste your organization ID and short name. See the section Get your organization ID and short name above.



  11. Click Connect to Hanwha Vision Cloud.



  12. Confirm that the green message appears and the button changes to Disconnect from Hanwha Vision Cloud.

Add the camera to OnCloud

  1. In OnCloud, click the building icon at the top right.



  2. Click Manage in the Devices section.



  3. Click Onboard Devices.



  4. Click Set Location, then select an option:


  5. Click Set Area, then select an option.



  6. Click Add.



  7. Click the Cameras link in OnCloud to locate your camera and verify streaming.
