Summary:

With DMPro, you can update the firmware on devices automatically or manually.  Everything you need to know about updating the firmware is in the steps below.

Step By Step Guide:

Update the Firmware Automatically

To schedule firmware updates to happen automatically:

1. In Cloud Portal, navigate to DMPro.
   
   
2. In the navigation panel on the left side of the screen, click the Settings () icon.
   
   
3. In the Settings menu, navigate to Auto firmware update.
   
   
   
4. Toggle Auto firmware update on.
   
   • Choose day:  What day you want to update firmware
   • Choose time:  What time you want to update firmware
   • Update devices: Whether to update multiple devices in parallel or in sequential order
   • [0] devices excluded from updating: Displays how many devices won’t be updated.
   • To edit the excluded devices list, click Exclude from updating.
     
     
     

   • Select the device you do not want to update to add it to the excluded devices list.
     
     
     

   • Remind me [] before updates: Select the check box if you want to get notifications before firmware updates. You can choose between 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours.  
     
     
     
5. Click Apply.  The Apply button only appears when you set the start and end time.

Update from Cloud

To update from Cloud manually:

1. In Cloud Portal, navigate to DMPro.
   
   
2. In the navigation panel on the left side of the screen, click the Dashboard () icon.
   
   
   
3. Navigate to the Firmware widget.
   
   
4. Click the number that shows the quantity of Updatable devices.
   
   
   
5. Navigate to Update from cloud. Here, you will see devices with firmware updates available.
   
   
   You cannot update the firmware on the following devices:
   
   • Unlicensed devices: You need to attach a DMPro license to enable firmware updates.
   • WAVE Sync devices: DMPro cannot update the firmware on WAVE-attached cameras. Consider using DM Bridge in parallel.
   • Direct-to-Cloud devices: DMPro cannot update the firmware on cameras running the Cloud Connector App. Consider using DM Bridge in parallel, or managing the firmware using OnCloud.

     Note: To update the firmware on WAVE Sync and Direct-to-Cloud devices, connect
     them to DM Bridge and ensure the licenses are attached to the devices.  For
     instructions on how to use DM Bridge, refer to this article.

6. Select devices you want to update and choose between Sequentially and In parallel. Select Sequentially to update devices sequentially; select In parallel to update devices in parallel.
   
   
7. Click Update firmware.
   

Update from Computer

To update from computer manually:

1. In Cloud Portal, navigate to DMPro.
   
   
2. In the navigation panel on the left side of the screen, click the Dashboard () icon.
   
   
   
3. Navigate to the Firmware widget.
   
   
4. Click the number that shows the quantity of Updatable devices.
   
   
   
5. Navigate to Update from computer. Here, you will see devices with firmware updates available.
   
   
   
6. Upload firmware files from your computer by clicking the Plus icon to browse for the file.
   
   
   
7. Click Update firmware.
