Licensing Hanwha Vision Cloud Products

Summary:

With the launch of Hanwha Vision Cloud, Hanwha Vision introduced a more streamlined licensing process. This article describes the licensing process from purchasing to final activation.

Prerequisites:

To purchase a license, you will need to go through a Hanwha Vision Distributor.

To activate any license type (except AI Packs), you will need access to Cloud Portal.

NOTE: The activation process will vary depending on the kind of license.
Some are assigned to a specific camera, others to an organization.

To activate AI Packs, you will need:

  • Access to the camera via the camera's web UI.

  • An Internet-connected smartphone with a camera to scan a barcode (for activating cameras that are not accessible via the Internet).

  • A single-sensor P series camera (time on the camera must be accurate or the licensing process will fail). 

  • The Retail AI Pack, Traffic AI Pack, Factory AI Pack, or Sound Classification License (the license is specific to the AI Pack version number)

Purchasing a License

You can purchase a license in two ways: through Sales Hub or through a Distributor. To purchase through Sales Hub, refer to How do I Manage Purchased Licenses in SalesHub?

NOTE: Partners can purchase licenses via distributors, but fulfillment is 
not instantaneous.

Activating Any License Type (Except AI Packs)

Cloud Portal 

To add your license to Cloud Portal, refer to Cloud Portal: How do I manage licenses?

OnCloud

To activate an OnCloud license on a camera, refer to How do I license my OnCloud cameras?

DMPro

FLEX AI

FLEX AI has two types of licenses:

  • An annual license per organization, which is for creating and training new models. An annual license is activated by adding the license to Cloud Portal.

  • A one-time activation within WiseAI that authorizes a compatible camera to run any FLEX AI model. One-time license keys are added to Cloud Portal and attached to the respective camera.

NOTE: Unlike with OnCloud, DMPro, and SightMind, a one-time activation license 
may not be detached or removed from the camera (and is non-transferable to other 
cameras). However, the model may be removed or updated.  

To activate FLEX AI:

  1. Sign in to your Cloud Portal account and click the Licensing tab.

  2. Add and verify the annual FLEX AI license key. 

  3. Enter a start date (date from which you will have access when using the annual subscription). 

Activating an AI Pack

Many Hanwha Vision cameras contain AI-based video analytics to detect the most common objects, such as people, faces, and various kinds of vehicles. The most powerful cameras take it a step further by including appearance, and the presence of hats, backpacks, and more. Some occasions require custom video analytics where specialized objects are detected (e.g.: shopping carts for retail, forklift trucks for manufacturing, or congested traffic for intelligent transportation systems). 

Hanwha Vision has developed specialized AI Packs to address these unique market-specific needs. These AI Packs can be purchased through Distribution, downloaded onto specific cameras, and then licensed. 

To install an AI Pack via online activation:

  1. Go to the AI Pack Download Page and download the appropriate AI Pack to your computer. 

  2. Navigate to the camera’s Web UI page. 

  3. Uninstall the WiseAI app from the camera.


  4. Enter the license key from the email containing your purchase information.




    It will automatically activate, and you will see that the app is now successfully licensed.
NOTE: WiseAI and an AI Pack cannot both be present on one camera.

To install an AI Pack via offline activation:

  1. Contact your Sales Representative to obtain the AI Pack.

  2. Download the appropriate AI Pack to your computer. 

  3. Navigate to the camera’s Web UI page. 

  4. Uninstall the WiseAI app from the camera. 

  5. Enter the license key from the email containing your purchase information. 

  6. Click Get activation code.


  7. Scan the QR code with your phone and let it open a browser.


  8. Enter the Activation Code sent to your phone on the camera’s app licensing page.

    You will see that the app is now successfully licensed.
