Setting up DVR to send email alerts for triggered events (motion). Step by step guide to configure a Gmail account for use with the DVR.
Step By Step Guide:
Note: Email setup with a Gmail account will require 2-step-verification to be enabled.
A specific app password will be generated for you to use when setting up email alerts
in the DVR.
1. Please visit the following website to generate app password needed for email setup: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/185833?hl=en-GB
2. Access the DVR menu by clicking on the three lines at the bottom left of the screen.
3. Click on Setup
4. If prompted, enter the login credentials for your DVR.
5. Click on Network at the top of the screen.
6. Select Email on the left menu column.
7. Check the box to enable email.
8. Set encryption to Auto.
9. Set SMTP port to 00587
11. Enter "smtp.gmail.com" into SMTP server without parenthesis.
12. Enter your full Gmail address in the User Name field.
13. Input the password generated from step 1 into the Password field.
14. Enter your full Gmail address in the Sender field.
15. Enter the email address you would like to receive the email alerts. (This can be the same as the sender)
16. Click on Email Test button.
17. If email test is successful please click apply at the bottom right to save settings.
