Summary:
This article outlines how to recover licenses and credentials lost during a Windows upgrade.
NOTE: These steps apply only if you did NOT re-image the operating system drive
but performed a system restore. In this case, the old Windows directory will
still exist, allowing you to retrieve the original WAVE database files.
Step By Step Guide:
- Click the Start button in Windows, enter services.msc, then press Enter.
- Select Hanwha Media Server in the services screen then click the Stop button.
- Navigate to the following path in the old Windows directory:
C:\old\WINDOWS\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Hanwha\Hanwha Media Server - Copy the ecs.sqlite and ecs_static.sqlite files, then paste them in the following directory:
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Hanwha\Hanwha Media Server - Return to the services screen from Step 1 and restart the Hanwha Media Server.
Your cameras, users, layouts, and license keys should now be restored.
NOTE: If your license keys are offline, contact Support to deactivate and
then re-enter the license keys.
