Applies to: WAVE
Summary:
There may be an instance where it becomes necessary to remove a WAVE server from an existing WAVE System. This process can be referred to as detaching from a System or un-merging from a System.
NOTE: Please export the license codes that were activated on the mediaserver you
want to detach. This can be done in the License tab of the System Administration
menu with the Export option at the top right.
Step-by-Step Guide:
To Detach Server from the System Using Server's Web Interface
- Log in to the web interface of the server that should be detached from the current System.
OR
- Open the Settings tab and click Detach from the system.
- Enter the Server's admin password and confirm the action.
It is also possible to detach a server from a System by restoring the server's factory defaults:
- Log in to the web interface of the server that should be detached from the current System.
OR
- Go to the Settings tab and click Restore Factory Defaults.
- Enter the Server's admin password and confirm the action.
IMPORTANT: All WAVE Sync users including the Cloud System owner will be deleted when a server is unlinked from the Cloud System. Only the local Owner and local users will remain.
If you need to Deactivate the license to move it to another Server in the System, follow WAVE: In-Client License Deactivation/Transfer.
NOTE: If licenses have previously been activated on the server being detached,
they will be disabled with the error "Server not found."
