WAVE: Paxton Net2 Plugin Setup

Summary:

The Paxton Net2 Plugin is a free software package that allows a video from WAVE to be integrated into the Paxton Net2 Access Control System. Installing the Paxton Plugin for WAVE gives users the ability to view event-driven video from WAVE in their Paxton Net2 client.

Step By Step Guide:

Installing the Paxton plugin for WAVE

  1. Install the WAVE client software on the PC's running your Paxton Net2 Client. The WAVE client must be installed to view video from within Paxton Net2 Client.
  2. Download the Paxton Plugin from Releases, search in page for the WAVE version you are running, select WINDOWS under Download Links, and the plugin for your version of Net2.
  3. Double click on the installation package to begin installation.
  4. Follow the installation Wizard.
  5. Install the plugin on your Net2 server and each Net2 client PC.

 

Configuring the Paxton Net2 Access Client

  1. Open the Paxton Net2 Access Client and login.
  2. Go to the Options Menu and choose Camera Integration.
  3. Press the Add button and choose your system name (WAVE) from the list of camera servers.
  4. In the Host Name field, enter the IP address or URL of your WAVE server.
  5. In the Username field, enter your WAVE username.
  6. In the Password field, enter your WAVE password.
  7. Click Detect.
  8. If your credentials and connection information are correct, you will see a list of cameras from the WAVE system you are integrating with the Paxton Net2 Access system.
  9. Press Apply and then OK
  10. In the Net2 client, go to the system tree and choose door.
  11. Select a door and choose the Camera integration tab from the main viewing area of the Paxton Net2 client.
  12. You should now see a list of cameras from the integrated system.  Place a tick against the camera to be associated with this door.  Multiple cameras can be selected from the list.
  13. Press Apply when done to complete the door-camera association 

Viewing Event-Driven Video In Paxton Net2 Client

  1. In the Paxton Net2 Client, move to the system tree and select any event that has a related video to display a camera icon to the right of the details column.
  2. Double click on the camera icon to activate a popup of the related video.
  3. Users can now use the WAVE Paxton client to review, capture, and export video from the related event.
