Summary:
Wisenet WAVE provides a built-in automatic routing mechanism that enables users to work with large sites as a single cluster seamlessly.
Explanation of Behavior:
- There may be custom network configurations that require custom routing settings. Sometimes, servers have several IP addresses (public and private), and it may be necessary to allow or restrict traffic flow for some of them.
- Initially, WAVE tries to discover all available IP addresses of servers (including public and private ones).
-
A server can have a public IP address connected to the Internet via a 100 Mbit network and a local NIC with a local IP address (1 Gbit). Routing management will help to direct the public and private traffic flow to the appropriate NIC.
Step By Step Adding Routing Rules Via Wave:
1. Open Wave Client
2. Go to System Administration (CTRL+ALT+A)
3. Select the Routing Management Tab (Figure 1)
4. The left panel displays a list of all connected servers. Select a server in this list to show all available interfaces on the right side of the dialog. (Figure 1)
5. To allow/deny traffic via a specific network interface, click the toggle button for that connection (Figure 1)

6. To add an address manually, select the Add button (Figure 2)
7. Enter a URL using the format http://<ip>:<port> (Figure 2)
Note:
• <ip> – the desired IP address or DNS name of the server
• <port> – network port server is listening on (default 7001)
