Applies to: WAVE
Summary:
This article will take you through attaching WAVE to an already created share on your NAS.
NOTE: This article and Hanwha Vision are proceeding from the viewpoint that
you know how to share a folder on a NAS via Samba. Consult your NAS MFG for
assistance with creating Logical Units and Samba shares on your make and
model NAS.
Step By Step Guide:
To add a NAS connection to WAVE:
- Right-click the Server in WAVE then select Server Settings.
- Click Add External Storage and enter the path/URL to the Samba-shared directory.
Example of a properly formatted path: \\NAS_DEVICE\smb_dir
NOTE: Trashboxes/trash bins/recycling bins must be disabled as a part of
the configuration step. WAVE Server starts overwriting when the Reserved
Space limit is reached. In order to do that, it sends standard SMB-delete
requests to the NAS drive. If the recycle bin is enabled, NAS will put
files in the bin instead. The server will not get the necessary space to
send new delete commands; instead, it will end up with a full drive and
the inability to record any data until the recycle bin is emptied. - Input login credentials, if needed.
- Click OK to save the changes.
