Summary:
Reserved Space is an advanced feature in WAVE that should only be changed under the supervision of a Hanwha Technician, as setting it too low can lead to system instability. By default, the WAVE Server reserves free space for local disks and network-shared drives, recycling the oldest footage when free space exceeds the assigned reserved space. The reserved space ranges from 10 to 30 GB for each local drive and 50 to 100 GB for each NAS on a WAVE Server, but it must not exceed 10% of a drive's total size. This article provides instruction for configuring the Reserved Space for longer retention periods.
Step By Step Guide:
To configure the Reserved Space:
- Enter the Server IP with port 7001 in a web browser (ex:<ServerIP>:7001) and log in with admin credentials.
Example: 192.168.1.10:7001 - Click Settings.
- Click Servers from the menu on the left side of the screen.
- Add ?advanced= to the end of the URL and click Enter.
The URL will look like this:
https://<ServerIP>:port/#/settings/servers/<serverId>?advanced
For example:
https://localhost:7001/#/settings/servers/ff72f898-3067-2685-87a6-1b2e96fabc49?advanced - Enter the desired value in the Reserved space field to meet your use case.
IMPORTANT: Never set Reserved Space to zero. A Minimum of 10 percent should
always be maintained for system stability. - Click Save.
